Hackle, John - Deputy John Heckle Jr., 49, of  Ontario/Williamson, died June 30, 2006. Survived by his daughter Adrienne; parents, John Catherine 'Kay' Heckle; siblings; Linda (David) Johnson, David (Rosa) Heckle, Mary Kay (Don) Allen, Paul (Karen) Heckle; nieces & nephews, David, Lindsay, Brian Johnson, Kevin, Christopher, Claire Heckle, Lillie Allen; several aunt, uncles, many friends & fellow officers. John was a 19-year veteran of the Wayne Co. Sheriff's Office, a handler in the K- 9 unit and an avid fisherman & hunter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today at 10 at St. Mary's of the Lake Church, Ontario. Burial at Furnaceville Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in his memory.

Gabbard, Donald E. Sr - Donald E. Gabbard Sr. age 67 of Daboll Rd., Clyde died Friday June 30, 2006 At Pines of peace Hospice. Friends called at Pusateri Funeral Home, 68 Sodus St, Clyde. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 at Maranatha Baptist Church, Travell Rd, Lyons. Burial in South Lyons Cemetery. Memorials to Pines of Peace, 2378 Ridge Rd, Ontario N.Y. 14519. Don was born in Sunrise Indiana, Sept 9, 1938; son of Luther & Bertie Gabbard. He had worked in his earlier years at Garlock; Vanderveer & Coleman in Lyons & recently for Cadbury-Sweeps in Waterloo. He was a member of Maranatha Baptist church in Lyons. Survived by his wife of 48 yrs. Barbara Goodman Gabbard; 2 sons; Donald (Laurie) Jr. of Clyde; Tim of Venice, FL; daughter Christine (Joseph) Hollier of Lyons; brother; Dallas (Bonnie) Gabbard of Newark; 7 grandchildren; nieces & nephews.

Townsend, Robert J. - Robert J. Townsend, 71, of Broad St., Lyons, passed away Friday, June 30, 2006 at Rochester General Hospital. Bob was born on December 23, 1934, in Newark, a son to George K. and Emma Van Waes Townsend. He was a veteran of the Marines from 1957-59. A truck driver for 40 years with various company's, he retired from the NYS Department of Transportation in Newark in 1977. He was a member and past president of the American War Dads. Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gail; daughters, Leslie (Michael) Sechrist of Virginia and Amy (David Nagowski of Rouses Point, NY; 4 grandchildren, Kristin, Jeremy, Lucas and Bobbi Jo; brother, George Townsend of Newark; sisters, Gerry O'Connell of Newark, Margaret Hoot of Sodus, and Elizabeth Johnston of Canandaigua; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family may call on Sunday, July 2, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons. Inurnment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery at the family's convenience. Morris, Alton Arthur - Alton Arthur Morris, 50, of Fulton, formerly of Lyons, died June 29, 2006 in Syracuse. He was born in Ocalo, Florida March 1, 1956, the son of Louis Mac and Lillie Mae Steel Morris Sr. He was a communication operator in the U.S. Army, serving from 1976 to 1981. He attended Lyons school and graduated from Fulton High School. Alton was a volunteer at various Wayne County Community Centers and on the board of trustees of the Full Gospel Ministries Church in Newark. He is survived by his daughter Altonya Morris of Charleston, SC; great granddaughter Mae Mae; brothers, Louis Morris of Clyde, Dale (Yama) Morris of Ocala, FL, Kim (Stephanie) Morris of Syracuse, and Hayward (Annette) Simmons of Newark; sisters, Retired Lt. Colonel Theresa C. Morris of Round Lake, IL, Gloria and Cheryl Morris of Lyons, Cathy (Avis) Tuggerson of Reddick, FL, Jessica (Curtis) Clark of Jacksonville, NC, Vanessa (Frank) Sheldon of Belville, FL, Donna (Brian) Johnson and Stephanie Morris of Rochester; many niece, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Thursday, July 6 from 4-7 p.m. at the Boeheim-Pusateri Funeral Home, 77 William  St., Lyons. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 7 at 9 a.m. at Mt. Wood, Barbara - Barbara J. Wood, 73, of Port Gibson, died June 28, 2006 at her home. She was born August 8, 1932 in the Town of Palmyra, the daughter of Ralph and Neila Blankenburg. She was a 1951 graduate of Newark High School and workedfor Jackson & Perkins and was head cashier for the Big N Department Store in Newark. Barbara was a member of the Port Gibson Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, John F. Sr.; two sons John Jr. (Dawn) of Post Gibson and James N. (Theresa) of Fairport; five grandchildren - Melissa, Jeremy, James Jeffrey and Jenna Wood; two sisters Doris (William) Bush of Clifton Springs and Dolores Farnsworth of Port Gibson; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son David A.Wood and a brother Richard Farnsworth. Friends may call Saturday (July 1) from noon to 2 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, where funeral services will follow calling hours. Interment will be in Port Gibson Cemetery. Milbrook, Lena - Lena D. Milbrook, 92, formerly of Newark, died in Sun City, Florida on June 10, 2006. She was born May 6, 1914, the daughter of Jake and Mary Dullart. Mr. Dullart founded the Arcadia Oil Co. She operated Dullart's Beauty Shop, located for many years at 206 East Miller Street, and later at 116 West Maple Avenue. She was predeceased by her husband, August C. Milbrook. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn (Gerry) Tome of Ruskin, Florida, grandchildren, Pam (Glen) Watson of Hollywood, Florida, Holly (Jack) Johnson of Walworth, Dan (Leslie) Holdridge of Okinawa, Japan, and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at the Newark Cemetery.

Van Nostrand, Nellie Matide Becker - Nellie Maude Becker Van Nostrand, 94, died Sunday (June 25, 2006) at the Geneva Living Center South. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, (Wednesday, June 28) at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main St., Phelps. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m, Thursday (June 29) at the United Church of Phelps, with the Rev. Shirley Filiatreau officiat ing. It is suggested that contributions be made to the Phelps Memorial Library. Nellie was born Jan, 8, 1912, in Port Byron, the daughter of the late Neil and Melissa Wheeler Becker. She was a member of the, United Church of Phelps and was very active in the Phelps Library. She was a founding member of the Phelps Historical Society. She was also a member of the Phelps Croquet Club and the Home Bureau. Nellie was an avid gardener and was a home seamstress. She is survived by her children, Frank Van Nostrand of Phelps, Linda DeWeaver of Phelps and Diana (Lawrence) Forkash of Viola, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Morris and Donald Becker of Weedsport and George Becker of Syracuse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, and daughter-inlaw, Diana Hatch.

Whelan, Arlene - Arlene Whelan, 81, Newark/Fountain Hills AZ, died Monday (June 26, 2006) in Fountain Hills. Friends may call on Friday (June 30) from 4 to 7 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Father Peter Clifford will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 on Saturday (July 1) at St Michael's Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Michael's School, 320 South Main Street, Newark, New York 14513 or to the Alzheimer's Association, Rochester Chapter, 435 E. Henriette Road, Rochester, New York 14620. Mrs. Whelan was born October 15, 1924 in Rochester, the daughter of August and Kathryn Hollahan Bluhm. She was a long-time resident of Newark, where her husband owned Whelan Cadillac and Pontiac. They moved to Florida in 1985 and she has lived in Fountain Hills for the past 4 years. When in Newark, she was a communicant of St. Michael's Church and had volunteered at St. Michael's School. She had been a member of the Newark Country Club, the Travelers Club, several book clubs and bridge clubs. One of her great loves was being a Docent at the Rochester Museum of Art. Arlene is survived by her four children Douglas (Virginia) of Bradenton, FL, Sister Mary Virginia a.p.s. of Manchester, NH, Mary Kay Whelan and Gregory both of Fountain Hills, AZ. She was predeceased by her husband Leo on December 20, 1988 and her sister Virginia Spellicy.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Gerald Chapman; loving daughters, Joanne Chapman of Newark, Shelly (Kelly) Creighton of Lyons; special grandchildren, John Creighton, Whitney Chapman (James Tuders); a great-grandson, Alex Chapman; nieces and a nephew. Krusemark, Richard - Richard E. Krusemark Sr., 62, of Lyons died suddenly on June 21, 2006. Arrangements were entrusted to Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., in Lyons. Interment is in the South Lyons Cemetery. Dick was born July 21, 1943, in Lyons, a son to Lloyd E. and Hermione A. Hicks Krusemark. He was a member of the Lyons Fire Department. He was a 37-year member of the Humanity Lodge 406 F&AM. He was employed at Ideal Chevrolet in Avon. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Millie; three children, Dawn Krusemark of Maryland, Valerie Krusemark of Geneva, and Richard Jr. (Carol) of California; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Eleanor and Daren; sister, Alice (Fred) Allen of Lyons; nephew, Scott Allen of California; and cousins.

Vienna, Mike - Mike Vienna, 47, of Palmyra died June 22, 2006. He was predeceased by his parents Richard & Betty Vienna. He is survived by sisters and brothers - Mary Vienna (Steve Pratt), Beth (Jim) Rahm, Jim Vienna, Sharon Wager, Tim (Christine) Vienna, Pat (Vienna); several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. DeVries, Fredrick - Fredrick J. DeVries, 77, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Father Peter Clifford will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 26 at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Phelps. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Michael's Church, 401 South Main Street, Newark, New York 14513. Mr. DeVries was born in Phelps, New York on December 31, 1928, the son of Anton and Alice Polee DeVries. He was a 1947 graduate of Newark High School and continued his education, graduating from Niagara University with a degree in education. Fred owned and operated DeVries Gardens on West Union Street along with several other businesses with his brother-in-law including the car wash. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Church. Fred was active with the Vince Lombardi football program in Newark and had served as the organizations president. Mr. DeVries is survived by his loving friend Theresa Dabbracci of Penn Yan, two sisters Ann (Fred) Burgess of Newark and Betty (Robert) Griffith of Deltona, FL., many nieces and nephews.

DePauw, Raymond - Raymomd C. 'RC' DePauw, 83, of Sanford, Florida, formerly of Newark, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at the Central Florida Hospital in Sanford, Florida. There was a Mass of Christian Burial June 15 at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial in Newark Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905. Mr. DePauw was born in Jordan, New York on May 19, 1923, the son of Phillip and Leona DeBlaeye DePauw. A long time resident of Newark, he owned and operated De Roo Food Products of Newark for many years. He was a communicant of All Souls Catholic Church in Sanford and a long time member of St. Michael's Church in Newark. While in Florida, he worked part-time for May Fair Country Club. RC served with the Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He is a member of the August Mauer Post American Legion and the Arcadia Memorial Post VFW in Newark. He also was a member of the Newark Elk's Lodge and had been a member of the Newark Country Club. RC is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary, his children Gloria and Tony Paddock of DeBarry, FL, Richard and Janelle DePauw of Apollo Beach, FL, Phillip DePauw and Loretta Vitaro of Newark, Debbie Bray and Dale Fixsal of Orlando, FL, Ray and Nancy DePauw of Newark, Gordon DePauw of Newark, Mike Swartz of Newark, daughter-in-law Sandra DePauw of Rochester; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a brother and sister-in-law Wilbur and Cora DePauw and a sister-in-law Bertha Claeys, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sons William 'Red' Reimer, Alton Dukelow, brothers Cy Claeys and Robert Claeys.

Smith, Alice - Alice R. Smith, 86, a resident of the Wayne County Nursing Home, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at the Newark Wayne Hospital. Alice was born in the Town of Rose, a daughter to Thomas and Ella Mae Henry Norris. She was one of ten children, and retired from the Newark Wayne Hospital as a supervisor. She is predeceased by her husband George M. Smith in 2003, brothers, Guy, Thomas, Leslie, Paul and Ray, and sisters, Alberta and Mary. She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Smith of Newark, Carol (Ted) Peck of Newark and Nancy (Jim) Nevelizer of Sodus; two grandsons, John (Sue) Nevelizer of Savannah and Joshua (Abigail) Peck of Newark; three great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Zachary and Olivia; two sisters, Dorothy Pettit of Fair Haven and Marjorie Smith of PA.

Bolton, Paul L. - Paul Lester Bolton, 59 died Monday, June 19, 2006 at the Buffalo VA Hospital. Family and friends may call Saturday (June 24) from 11 to 1 at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St., Newark. A Funeral Service will follow calling at 1 p.m. with Rev. Peter Clifford officiating. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery with military honors at the convenience of the family. Paul was born the son of the late Lester and Margaret Thrasher Bolton on September 23, 1949 in Batavia, NY. He worked at J.P. Motors as a mechanic until his health would not allow him to work. Paul enjoyed working on lawnmowers and small engines, fixing anything and was a jack of all trades. The funeral home proudly flies the Army flag in honor of his service to our country during the Viet Nam War. Dean, Ed - Ed Dean, 53, of Crisfield, Maryland, passed away suddenly at his vacation home in North Carolina on June 16, 2006. Born in Newark, Ed was the only child of Bob Dean and Anna (Priebe) Dean. A lifelong teacher and educator, one of his proudest memories was his missionary trip to Haiti when he was 16. After graduating from Ithaca College in 1975, he began his teaching career at Sussex Central Middle School in Delaware. He mentored his students in the classroom and on the field, coaching Little League, softball, basketball and wrestling. He left the classrooms behind to become an administrator, most recently as Principal of Princess Anne Elementary School in Princess Anne, Maryland. A lifelong beach lover, Ed spent 20 years guarding the beaches of Rehoboth and Bethany in Delaware. Lifeguards on those beaches today follow the model he set in place as captain from 1982 until 1991. Friends and family have established a college scholarship fund to assist a deserving lifeguard from the Bethany Beach Patrol with college expenses. Ed is survived by his wife, Deborah Dean; his son, Jud Dean and Melissa Wooters; his daughter, Megan Dean; his parents, Bob and Ann Dean; his aunts and uncles, Charles and Miriam Priebe, Paul and Dorothy Priebe, Richard Priebe and Helen Linstrom; his cousins, Stephanie Jensen and Lois and Brandy Jones; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Brown; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Wyn Hiles, John and Kathy Hornby, and Charles and Katherine Goff; his nieces and nephews, Lee, Andrew, Trevor, Jenna, Ashley and Laurel; many cherished friends. A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield, Maryland where friends may call starting at noon. Molinaro, Anthony R. - Anthony R. Molinaro, 87, of Holley St., Lyons, died Saturday, June 17, 2006. Predeceased by his son, John; sisters, Louise Colacino, Christina Dapolito, Rose and Amelia Fratangelo. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Josephine; daughter, JoAnn of Auburn; son, Robert of Rochester; best friend and brother, John (Angie) of Lyons; 3 grandchildren, Colleen (James) Barry of Rochester, Jennifer (Matt) Daake of AZ, and Amy (Paul) Kinney of AZ; 2 great-granddaughters, Taylor and Tessa Daake of AZ; 2 special friends, Jean Carroll and David Lauster of Lyons; several nieces and nephews. Anthony was born February 8, 1919 in Lyons, a son to John and Mary Rago Molinaro. He was a WWII Navy veteran, a life member of the Lyons Elks (BPOE), and he and his brother John were co-owners of the Bridge Tavern Restaurant for 30 years. Divelbliss, Robert A. - Robert 'Bob' Allen Divelbliss, 50, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Sodus Rural Cemetery. Bob was born the son of Herbert and Evelyn Peglow Divelbliss on July 6, 1955 in Sodus, New York. He was unable to work for many years due to many health issues. Bob enjoyed working on old cars, car races on TV, going to car races and helping with animals. Bob will be remembered by his loving and caring wife of 31 years Dawn Harter Divelbliss; children, Ann (Randy) Protheroe of AL, Kay Divelbliss and Jason Divelbliss both of Newark; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; mother Evelyn of N. Weber, Bernhard H. - Bernhard H. Weber, 67, of Lyons, died June 14, 2006. Survived by his wife of 48 years ,Elfrieda Buettner Weber; Guardian for Russell Muscarella; his mother, Veronica Weber of Henrietta; sister, Marianne Misof of VA; aunt & cousin in Germany. Bernie operated the New to You Shop in Lyons and was a general contractor from 1967 to 1982. He operated the Barn in Newark. He came to the US in 1956 & moved to Lyons in 1963. He was a member of the German & American Sports Club in Rochester, American Legion in Newark & Masonic Lodge in Lyons. Edwards, Brian G. - Brian G. Edwards, of East Palmyra, 55, died June 15, 2006. Brian was January 3, 1951, son of Gilbert and Clara 'Iona' Penrith Edwards. He was an employee of Whelan Cadillac and Piehler Pontiac in Newark, where he was mechanic, parts manager and service manager over many years of employment. Barclay, Marion - Marion Brooks Barclay, 93, of Lyons, died June 14, 2006, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Marion was born April 26, 1913, in Cortland, a daughter of Ransom J. and Lorena Warner Brooks. She was a 1934 graduate of Cortland Normal School. Mrs. Barclay taught school at McLeon, Lyons, at the Onondaga Indian Reservation in Syracuse, and retired from Newark. She was a member of Wayne County and New York State Retired Teachers Associations. Her kind and giving nature touched all who knew her, and her courage and willingness to face whatever adversity was placed in her path have given her family and friends great comfort. She is survived by her children, Margaret, of Newark, and Gary (Bonnie Rogers) of Lyons; grandchildren, Marcia and Brian; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of more than '63 years, Howard, in September 2005; one sister, Jane Greenfield; and one brother, R. Eugene Brooks. Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday (June 16) at the Weeks- Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., in Lyons. A graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (June 17) in the South Lyons Cemetery. Marsh, Bruce - Bruce J Marsh, 78, died June 2, 2006. The son of Glendon and Esther Marsh was a lifetime resident of Wolcott. He served in the Army during the postwar (WWII) occupation of Japan as a cryptographer stationed in Yokohama. Following his discharge, he attended Potsdam College to study agriculture. Bruce went on to work and eventually take over the family business which provided cooperage and chair flag to companies around the world. Later in life he became a full time farmer - his lifetime passion. He was known for the quality of produce he grew and was a familiar face to all at his roadside stand. He enjoyed woodworking as a pastime. He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly, brother Kenyon and two children, Bruce Jon and Leigh Eric. Survivors include his brother, Dr. Leland Marsh of Martville; his son, Brian J. Marsh of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters, Karen Kyle and Tamara Eshleman both of Matamoras, PA. He is survived by many grandchildren , cousins, nephews and nieces. He was articulate and never lacking for a story. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the ACLU in his memory. Services are open only to the immediate family; a memorial is planned and will be announced later.

Brozoski, Roman - Roman S. Brozoski, Jr., 66, of Marion died June 13, 2006. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Donna; sons Roman (Kim) Brozoski III of Marion, and Terry (Jane) Ford of Lockport; daughter, Julie (Ron) Terwilliger of Palmyra; several grandchildren; mother-Inlaw, Rachel Drave of Marion; sister-in-law, Sally (Joe) Flynn of Marion; brother-in-law, Donald (Marge) Drave of Marion; and several nieces and nephews. Clemens, Larry - Larry Clemens, 66, of County Road 6, Phelps, died June 12, 2006 at Geneva General Hospital. Larry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Catherine; his daughter, Sherry (Frank) DeCook of Phelps stepsister Marie (Robert) Westfall of Phelps; two stepbrothers, William (Betty Taney) Sinack of Phelps, and Kenneth (Rosemary) Smack of Macedon; and his uncle, Herman (Clara) Frahs of Geneva. He was predeceased by his mother, Gladys B., Clemens-Sinack, who died Nov. 29, 2004; his stepfather, Paul Sinack, who died Feb. 15, 1986; and his aunt, Astrid Coene. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 16 at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main St., Phelps. Interment will be private, in Joslyn Cemetery in Oaks Corners. Larry was born Feb. 24, 1940, in Ypsilanti, North Dakota, but has lived most of his life in the Phelps area. Larry was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a lifetime member of the Buckhorn Sportsman's Club and the Himrod Field and Stream Conservation Club. He was a member of the American Legion Seeley B. Parish, Post 457 and the NRA. Larry was an Army Veteran serving from 1959-1962. He retired in 1997, after 28 years of service from the Tennessee Gas Pipeline in Clifton Springs. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Buckhorn Sportsman's Club in Phelps. 

Iwasko, Amy - Amy Marie (Dennis) Iwasko, 34, of Rochester died June 10, 2006, after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her daughter, Katrina; son, Aidan; mother, Kathryn P. Dennis; father, Timothy (Marcia) Dennis; brother, Sean; special aunt B (Barbara Sales); several aunts, uncles, cousins, many dear friends, and the father of her children, Christopher Iwasko. Funeral Mass was held at Holy Cross Church, Lake Avenue. Interment is in the Holy Angels Cemetery in Scottsville. Notebaert, Charlie - Frank C. 'Charlie' Notebaert, 64, of Phelps/Palmyra, died unexpectedly on June 8, 2006 at Newark Hospital. He was born Nov. 24, 1941, in Clifton Springs, the son of Frank and Gwendolyn Burger Notebaert. He was semi-retired from Val Tech Co. in Rochester. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Rogers Notebaert; children, Christopher (fiancee Roni) Notebaert of Phelps, Wanda (fiancee Terry) Popielarczyk of Clifton Springs, Scott (Jennifer) Notebaert of Shortsville, and Brian (Tina) Notebaert of Clifton Springs, seven grandchildren; mother, Gwendolyn, Notebaert of Clifton Springs; brothers and sisters, June (Ray) DeBaere of Clifton Springs, Diane (Bob) Schram of Palmyra, Lyle (Janette) Notebaert of Fairport, Gerry (Bill) Sergeant of Clifton Springs, Alan (Marge) Notebaert of Newark and Karen Early of Clifton Springs; his best friend, Jay Orlopp of Clifton Springs; nieces and nephews. Irwin, Marilynn - Marilynn M. Irwin, 61, died June 12, 2006. in Florida. She was a native of Newark; she lived in Springfield, VA for 14 years before returning to Jacksonville, FLorida in 1997. She was a member of the Congregational Church. Survivors include her husband James S. Irwin, Jr.; mother, Madelin E. Martin; daughter, Marcy (Richard W.) Collins; sons, Jeffrey (Jodi) Irwin, James S. Wheeler, Harriett - Harriett Wheeler, 90, of Phelps, died June 11, 2006 at DeMay Living Center. Harriett was born July 27, 1915, in Cohocton, the daughter of Elmer and Jennie Lawton Hurlburt. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Sharyn) Wheeler of Newark, Wayne Wheeler of Phelps, Sandra (Donnie) Dotson of Manchester, Terry (Carol) Wheeler of Canandaigua, and Judy (George) Young of Phelps; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald Wheeler; several nieces and nephews. Zornow, Ken - Kenneth J. Zornow, 52, of Sodus died suddenly on June 11, 2006. He is predeceased by his father, John and brother, Robert. Palmer, Scott - Scott Ashley Palmer, 40, of Pultneyville, died June 7, 2006. He was a graduate of Berklee College of Music and was bassist for John Brown's Body. He is survived by his parents, Vincent A. Palmer and Eleanor (Ellie) F. Palmer of Pultneyville, and a brother, Craig F. Palmer of Montreal, Canada. Wilson, Reginald - Reginald P. Wilson, 82, of Sodus died June 9, 2006. He served as a Naval Aviator during WWII and was a fruit grower for Wilson Brothers Farms. Torpy, Richard E. 'Dick' - Richard E. Torpy, 76, of 4 Locust Hill Dr., Lyons, formerly of 1261 Paddy Lane, Ontario, died Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Wayne County Nursing Home, Lyons. Dick was born April 30, 1930 in Brooklyn, the son of Wilbur A. and Marjorie C. Bradley Torpy. He was a 1950 graduate of Hempstead High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as an aircraft mechanic from 1950 to 1954. Mr. Torpy worked for 25 years as a school bus inspector for the New York State Department of Transportation, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Lyons and the Pultneyville Mariners, Inc. Sailing Club. He was a past member of the Rochester AERO Modeling Society, the Tonawanda American Legion and the Ontario First Presbyterian Church. He is survived by a son, Arthur (Susan) Torpy of Waco, TX; 3 daughters, Barbara (Richard) LeBlanc of Lyons, Lynn Torpy of Youngstown and Cathy (James) Riley of El Cajon, CA; a brother, John (Ruthie) Torpy of Martinez, GA; 1 niece; 2 nephews; and, 8 grandchildren. Winter, Marion - Marion J. Winter, 87, formerly of E. Miller St., Newark, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at DeMay Living Center. She grew up in Clyde and moved to Newark from Clyde. She lived in Newark over 30 years. She was a graduate of Clyde High School Class 1936. She was an active Euchre player at the VFW playing twice a week. Marion was a member of the Arcadia Senior Citizens. Survived by her son, Ronald (Melody) Winter of Lyons; daughter Edith (Bruce) Farrington of Sodus Pt.; brother Stanley (Ella) Noble of Clyde; 4 grandchildren; Christina, Melissa, Steve, Michelle; 2 great-grandchildren; Jason & Braedon. Predeceased by her husband Ernest, January 1992 & brother Arthur Noble.

Memorial Service - Port Gibson: Goellner, Karl Eugene; Oct. 27, 2004 and Ruth Elizabeth; March 10, 2002: Mr. and Mrs Goellner had bequethed their remains to the medical school at the University of Iowa. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside committal service to be held on Saturday, June 17 in the Port Gibson Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 1pm in the Port Gibson United Methodist Church. Gene was born on Sept. 18, 1911 in Port Gibson, NY. He was the sixth of eight children born to John and Anna Marie Volz Goellner. He earned a bachelor of science degree in 1933 and doctor of philosophy degree in 1943 at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He was veteran of WWII and served in the Air force in El Paso, TX. Gene and the former Ruth Goodwin were married in Detroit, Michigan on May 11, 1934. Mr. Goellner had taught at Luther College and Coe College. During his career he taught zoology, biology, embryology, ornithology, icthyology and comparative anatomy among other subjects. As faculty advisor, he counseled young men and women, helping them make decisions about their lives and careers. He strived to make student athletes students first and athletes second. Gene served as the President of the Iowa Academy of Science from 1978-79 and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Iowa Academy of Science in 1980. Mr Goellner was active in the Audubon Society, Nature Conservancy, Coe Athletics Committee and the Iowa Academy of Science. At Coe Commencement in May 2003, he was presented with the Distinguished Service Award for his contributions to the college.

Ruth was born on Sept. 27, 1910 in Hinsdale, Ill., the eldest of five children of Hiram F. and Sarah McGuire Goodwin. Her early childhood was spent on an Illinois farm where she learned from her father to love and study nature. She earned a bachelor of science and master of science degrees in zoology at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Ruth was a medical technologist at St. Lukes Hospital for 20 years. She built exhibits and taught nature and was active in the Cedar Rapids Audubon Chapter and in the Iowa Nature Conservancy. In the 1970s she spearheaded a project to acquire and protect a woodland-wetland in eastern Iowa which is now an Iowa State Preserve. In addition to her love of and concern for nature, she was always committed to education and science.

After retirement, Gene and Ruth moved to Teal Lake near Hayward, Wisconsin. He remained a Loyal Michigan Alumnus. He continued his lifelong focus on environmental and ecological issues at home and abroad. Gene and Ruth traveled extensively to such places as Siberia, Russia, Alaska, Europe, Norway, Guam, Africa, Trinidad, Mexico and the Galapagos Islands.

Mr. Goellner was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Anna, Henry, Fred, Margaret, John, Alice and Lud. Mrs. Goellner was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Hiram, Rachel and Horace. They are survived by their sons John (Annette), Karl A. (Mary), Paul (Bette Colville) and Mark (Anita) Goellner; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

West, Edward T. - 1944-2006. Edward T. West, age 62, of Silver Creek Circle, Clifton Springs, died Sunday June 3, 2006, at the Clifton Springs Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Ed is survived by his loving wife Anna, of Clifton Springs; son, Rob (Beth) West of Mocksville, NC; daughter, Cindy (Bob) Heiner of Len-hartsville, PA; grandchildren, Laura, Chris and Mike; great-grandchild, Tyler; sister, Kathy (Jim) Gary of Farmington; niece, Missy (Ray) Wolf; several great-nieces and nephews. Ed was born April 13, 1944, in Charleston, WV, the son of the late Alfred and Norma West. He was employed as maintenance for Cress Manor Nursing Home in Fairport. He enjoyed archery, NASCAR, making music and all sporting events. Ed was an avid NY Yankees fan and loved his and all animals. He, will be dearly missed by all of his loving friends and family. Celso, Anthony - Anthony Celso, died June 3, 2006, at age 89. He is survived by a son, David (Gilda) of Winter Springs, FL; five grand- children; a great-grandson; brother Bernard Celso of Newark; three sisters, Mary Pizzello of Canandaigua, Lucille Campanella of Los Angeles, and Teresa Carpenter of Tunkhannock, PA; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Mildred; a son Richard; four brothers, Ben, Rocco, Thomas and Richard Celso; five sisters Jane Sebastian, Emma Celso, Margaret Grazzo, Lena Zappia and Virginia DeMarco. No prior calling hours. His nephew, Father B. Thomas Celso, will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Wednesday (June 7th) at St. Michael's Church, South Main Street, Newark. Decker, Kenneth - Kenneth L. Decker, age 80, of Wolcott, died peacefully on June 5, 2006. Mitchell, Richard Grant Jr. - Wolcott Richard Grant Mitchell, Jr., 44, died June 3, 2006. Loving Husband, Father, Papa, and friend. Rick entered into rest with his family around him after a brave battle with cancer. Rick came to New York from Columbus, Ohio in 1982. He worked at Wayne ARC on staff in the printing department for several years, worked construction, and recently at Reckitt Benkiser in Wolcott. Rick was an avid angler, photographer, and loved building remote control airplanes. His mother, Betty L Pangborn, predeceased Rick. He is survived by his wife Brenda (Wolcott), his children, Richard, III, (Kelly) Matthew, Sarah, Heather, Holly, and granddaughter, Anna Marie (all from Wolcott); brothers, Randall (Joni) Mitchell of Iowa, Frank Mitchell (Pamela) of Ohio, stepfather Richard Pangborn of Ohio. Also survived by previous wife Dawn (Eric) Stowell of Wolcott, brothers-in-law, Ron Allen of Tupperlake, Lee Allen of Wolcott, John Douglas of Wolcott, William Douglas of Newark, Michael (Karen) Douglas of Newark, Christopher (Kelly) Meadows of Newark, sister-in-law, Theresa Douglas of Clyde, and mother-in-law Bonnie M. Douglas of Newark. Special friends also survive Rick: Mark (Karen) Courtney of Clyde, many nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Hartsen, June - June M. (Eisentrager) Hartsen, 90, of Williamson, died May 27, 2006. She was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Ontario, to Lewis and Leah Clark Eisentrager. She graduated from Ontario High School in 1935, and then attended Mechanics Institute of Rochester. She worked beside her husband Arnold J. Hartsen at Williamson Hardware for several years. She is survived by her son James A. (Kay S.) Hartsen of Williamson; granddaughter, Kim Hartsen, a graduate student at Hofstra University in Long Island; cousins and many special friends. Howlett, Ruth - Ruth M. (Zonnevylle) Howlett, 85, of Williamson/Ontario, died May 27, 2006. She was a member of the Williamson Reformed Church, Xerox Pioneer Club, and she volunteered over 3,000 hours with Myers Community Hospital Twig. She is survived by her daughter Laurie (John) Paige of Williamson; son, Chris Howlett of FL; grandchildren, Erica (Jorge) Perez of Williamson, Tracey Paige of Rochester, Debra Paige of East Rochester; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Lynch, Terence R. 'Terry' - Dec. 1, 1947 - May 25, 2006. Terence R. 'Terry' Lynch, 58, of Macedon, died with family by his side, on May 25, 2006 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Terry touched the lives of many as a kind soul and also as a devoted coach of youth baseball and basketball in earlier years. He took pride throughout his career in being a successful car, insurance and recreational vehicle salesman. Terry will be remembered for his passion for baseball and music. He is survived by his loving mother, Arline Lynch of New Jersey; son, Derek Lynch of Rochester; daughter, Sarah Lynch of Macedon; four sisters, Judy Schaller of New Jersey, Beverly (Fred) Brindisi of Georgia, Mary Pickett of Macedon and Michel (Paul) Layton of New Jersey; partner, Lauren Rachow of Fairport; two nieces; and three nephews. Terry was predeceased by his father, Richard Lynch, in 1982. Papasso, Frank M. - Frank M. Papasso, 89, a resident of the Wayne County Nursing Home since 2000, died Sunday (May 21, 2006). Services for Frank were held privately, at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Washington, N.J. 'Frank was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on April 2, 1917, a son to Nicholas and Theresa Badalado Papasso. He retired as a mechanic for Ace Iron & Railing Co. in Brooklyn. Following his retirement in the early 1980s, he moved to the Lyons area. He is survived by his son, Anthony (Helen) Papasso of N.J., stepdaughter Rita Parish of Virginia, stepson Richard Gore of Virginia; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Engquist, David Allen - David Allen Engquist was born June 30, 1952 to Glenn and Glenna Engquist in Yakima, Washington, where he spent his childhood and young adult years. He served in the US Air Force for 7 years. While living in Virginia he earned his bachelor's degree in 1988. He was married to Susan Clark for 28 years. His children Eric and Anna were named to honor his Swedish heritage. He studied and dreamed of being many things - from a pilot to a movie critic, living many places, pursuing many interests. His greatest passion was music. He was an accomplished 4 & 5 string banjo player. He performed with many bands at numerous events. In Palmyra, New York, where he lived for sixteen years, he served his community in many ways. He was a Boy Scout leader, volunteer firefighter and EMT. He was a member of the local Avant-garde Banjo Quartet, who produced 2 music CDs and performed at many local events. In recent years, his career took him to Indonesia as a mechanical engineer for Eaton, Inc. He loved the Island of Batam and the people there. It was in Batam with his close friend Ms. Vallen Joval at his side that he had a sudden heart attack and went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2006 at the age of 53. He was loved & will be greatly missed by his family: Eric and Skye Engquist (son and daughter-in-law), Brooklyn, New York; Anna Engquist (daughter) Seneca Falls, New York; Glenn and Glenna Engquist (parents) Wenatchee, Washington; 2 sisters: Lynette Metzer, Harrisonburg, Virginia and Lori (David) Franklin, Wenatchee, Washington; nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members and friends in the US and in Indonesia. The Memorial service will be held June 3 at 1 p.m. at Betts Funeral Home, 302 Ninth St, Wenatchee, WA 98801, officiated by Pastor Bud Wenzel. Later he was an inspector and then manager for NYS Board of Fire Underwriters until he retired in 1992. Mr. Lester loved trains and was proud of his huge model train collection. He enjoyed reading, wood working and loved his pets. He was a member of the East Palmyra Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Newark Volunteer Fire Dept. Hook and Ladder Co. where he was past President. Mr. Lester was a member of IAEI International Assoc. of Electrical Inspector. He had served as past President, Treasurer and Secretary. Mr. Lester will be remembered by his children John (Margaret) of Palmyra, David (Sue) of NC, Mary Lester of Newark and Carl (Amanda) Lester of Bloomfield; nine grandchildren; brother Donald (Joyce) Lester of Newark; sister Irene Bailey of Newark; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lester was predeceased by his 1st wife Annette in 1962 and 2nd wife Lucy in 1986.

Muir, Ruth Alice Janette - Ruth Alice Janette Muir, 89, of Lyons, died peacefully Wednesday (May 17, 2006) at the Wayne County Nursing Home In Lyons. Calling hours will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Friday (May 19) at the Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons, followed by a Memorial Service. Burial will be in Elrnwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, 14489. Ruth was born Nov. 7, 1916 in Lyons, the daughter of John L. and Janette Dunham Johnson. She had lived in Lyons all her life and was a 1935 graduate of Lyons Central School. She married Charles H. Muir, June 30, 1935. Ruth's career of a cook and waitress spanned almost 50 years in local restaurants: Sunset Farms, Tony's and Ed's, Len's Drive In, Helen's Restaurant, Vince's Restaurant and especially her own, Ruth's Clean Kitchen. She retired from Fitzgerald's in 1989. Ruth was among the first women in New York State to earn a pilot's license. She had been a member of the Eastern Stars and a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She dearly loved her cats and other animals. She is survived by three sons; Edward (Gloria) of Lyons, Charles H. Jr., of Rochester and Gehrig (companion, Debra) of Lyons; one daughter, Jennell (Harold) Horton of Lyons; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and half-brothers and sisters, Brion (Michele) Johnson, Jay (Melinda) Johnson, Lloyd (Carmen) Johnson, Bernice DeRoose, Jane (William) Mott, and Cynthia (Harold) Dennis; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Henry in 1978; daughter, Sharon Mayo in 1992; step-mother, Bernice Johnson in 2006; and half-sister, Sarah Giambra.

Dorothy was bom March 6, 1928 in Clifton Springs, the daughter of Edgar Perry and Alta Haight Hicks II. She grew up in Phelps. After graduating from Rochester Business Institute in 1946, Dottie moved to Newark. She was employed as a medical secretary for several dental and medical offices. She retired from the Wayne Ontario Library System in 1989. She served six years on the Newark School Board, was a member of Park Presbyterian Church and the Sodus Bay Historical Society. She is survived by her husband Eugene 'Gene' Vandemortel; daughter Anne (Joseph) DeBlois of Baldwinsville, twin sons Edward (Jill) Mundy of Geneva and James (Mary) Mundy of Palmyra; four grandchildren Aubree DeBlois, Jordyn, Kathryn and Jonathon Mundy; brother Robert Hicks of Brockport. Dorothy was predeceased by a brother Edgar Perry Hicks, III. She is survived by two daughters Jean (Wallace) Avery and Esther (Herland) Bouwens both of Newark; six grandchildren, Lori Weimer, Butch Bouwens, Steven Avery, Susan Avery, Amy Colf and Julie Robinson; ten grandchildren; a great-great grandson; sister Thelma (Lansing) Goodall of Port Gibson. Mrs. DeCaun was predeceased by her husband Leon in 1996 and three brothers and three sisters. The family is being served by Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home.

Doyle, Richard James - Richard James Doyle, (11/07/1942 - 4/24/2006), after a courageous 4-year battle with cancer at home in Grapevine, Texas. He was a Newark native, and a 1961 graduate of Newark High School, and a United States Air Force veteran. Decker, Sharon 'Sheri' A. - Sharon 'Sheri' A. Decker, 63, of South Main Street, Newark, died Friday (May 12, 2006) at Rochester General Hospital. Sheri was born Dec. 22, 1942, in Geneva, the daughter of Henry M. and Elizabeth Steen Decker. She had worked over the years for Mobil Chemical Company, IEC, Spinco and Sarah Coventry in Newark. She retired from Thomas Electronics in Clyde. She attended DeSales High School and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 286. She was active in bowling and loved to gamble, play euchre and travel. She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Amy) Lagana Jr. and Tim Lagana of Waterloo; three brothers, Bob (Donna) Decker of Waterloo, Hank (Gloria) Decker Jr. and Gary Decker, both of Geneva; four sisters, Barbara (Terry) Duffy of Ballston Spa, Saratoga County, Claire (Dennis) Campbell of Maryland, JoAnn (Tom) Blankenberg of Sodus and Lynne Decker of Seneca Falls; 31 cherished grandnieces and grand-nephews; several cousins; and two grandchildren, Zachary and Marissa Lagana.

Kepler, Betty J. - Betty J. Kepler, 77, of Sodus, died on May 13, 2006 in the Rochester General Hospital. Earl, Philip - Philip Roswell Earl, 83, of Newark, died May 9, 2006 at DeMay Living Center in Newark. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 12 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Saturday, May 13 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 400 S. Main St., Newark with the Rev. Carmen Rae Seufert officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark's Memorial Garden. Phil was born September 22, 1922, in Rochester, son of Schyler and Leonie Millard Earl. He graduated from Taft School and Wesleyan College in Middletown, Connecticut. A 2nd Lieutenant, Phil was a B-24 pilot during World War II in US Army Air Corp. Phil worked as a sales manager of Empire Crafts Corp., division of C.H. Stuart. He later worked in personnel for Bloomer Bros. and the University of Rochester, retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, where he had served on Vestry and was Treasurer for many years. Phil was active in the Newark-Arcadia Historical Society, Wayne County United Way, Wayne County Red Cross and the Newark Country Club. He is survived by his wife Suzanne Earl, a son Andrew (Evette) Earl of Rohnert Park, CA; three grandchildren, Melissa (Scott) Kinslow, Jordan Earl and Jesse Earl; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Kinslow, and daughter-in-law Sharon Earl of Newark; stepchildren Kay (Mark) Golding of Newark, William (Julie) Crothers of FL, Daniel (Lisa) Crothers of CA and Walter (Kathy) Crothers of MN; a brother Donald (Carolyn) Earl of CA. Phil was predeceased in 1986 by his first wife, Barbara Earl; by two sons, David in 1988 and Timothy in 1994; and his sister Barbara Reiheiner in 1998. Sapp, Florence - Florence Pauline Sapp, 73, of Lyons, died May 9, 2006 at DeMay Living Center. Florence was born August 21, 1932 in Shortsville, daughter of Carlton and Mildred Wheeler Warner. She worked at Mobil Chemical Co. in Macedon, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Lyons. She lived on Canal Street for many years before moving to Lyons Manor. She was predeceased by her husband, William Sapp and companion Shorty Hammond. She is survived by her sister, Pat Fabino, of Glen Burnie, MD; six nieces and nephews; good friend Chuck Thyarks of Lyons. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lyons. Cichon, Chuck - Charles A. (Chuck) Cichon, 68, formerly of Newark, died April 30, 2006 in Tennessee. Chuck was born August 17, 1937. He was retired from New York State Dept. of Motor Vehicles, where he was a vehicle Safety Inspector. Chuck was a veteran of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Div. and a member of VFW Post 1733. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener and had great love for his dog, JR. Chuck immigrated to the United States from Poland after World War II with his family. He carried a great interest in history and world affairs. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara (Retoske) Cichon of Knoxville, TN; daughters Rosemary (Michael) Waggoner of Newark, Delaware; Julie (Tom) Monahan, Kingsland, GA; Danielle and Mark Drumsta, Lake View, NY; grandchildren Carol, Matthew, Andrew, Meghan, Elizabeth, Amanda, Nicholas, Lauren and Gabby; sister Janina Pawlowski of Lancaster; nephews Henry and Ted Pawlowski.

Dussault, Raymond - Raymond Dussault, 89, of Newark, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. At the family's request, there will be no calling hours. Raymond was born the son of the late Frank and Cecile Dufort Dussault on March 8, 1917 in Cohoes, NY. Raymond enjoyed doing crafts, like stringing beads. He also enjoyed watching trains, bowling and dancing. Raymond will be remembered by his sister, Antoinette Lombardo; many nieces and nephews; his family and friends at ARC and Palmyra Ira House. She was predeceased in 2002 by her husband, George 'Ed' Eiseman; and by children Warren Eiseman, Carol Ann Eiseman and Robert Edward Eiseman; sister, Mae (Chester)' Briggs, and brother, Lyle Richardson. DeWilde, Nellie - Nellie DeWilde, 87, of Welcher Road, Newark, died May 4, 2006 at Clifton Springs Hospital. Nellie was born January 19, 1919, in Hinsdale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Willover. She had worked for the C.H. Stuart Company and retired from Marion Foods in 1978. She is survived by her daughter Geraldine McDonald of Bradford, PA; two sons, Andrew (Sandra) of Leicester, and Albert (Virginia) of Newark; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; twin sister Ella Osborne of Mt. Webster, Claire M. - Claire M. Webster, 82, of Port Gibson, died Friday, April 28, 2006 at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital with many of her friends by her side. Family and friends my call Tuesday (May 2, 2006) from 10 to 11 at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St., Newark. A Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. following calling hours. Burial will be in Port Gibson Cemetery. Claire was born the daughter of Norman and Nellie VanLeu Webster on July 15, 1923. She was named after her paternal grandmother. Claire lived for the past 19 years on Field St. in Port Gibson. Prior to that, she made her home on Wellington St in Savannah. She will be remembered for her curiosity, her love of music, travel, as well as for her wit and strength of character. Claire will be sadly missed and remembered by many friends.

Fitzerald, Neal - Neal W. Fitzgerald, 74, of Lyons, a resident of the Huntington Living Center in Waterloo, died April 26, 2006. Neal was born January 10, 1932, in North Tonawanda, to Ira and Mary (Ray) Fitzgerald. He was a veteran of the Army, having served in the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of Neal's Refrigeration in Lyons and later Fitzgerald's Restaurant in Lyons. He is survived by his four children: Danny (Debra) of Africa, Penny (Jeff) Most of California; David (Michelle) of Lyons; Timothy of Lyons; eight grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy Fitzgerald of Lyons; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Shirley Kunkel of Auburn. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Beverly Lundberg in 1992; daughter, Suzanne in 2004; two brothers, Warren and Roselle; three sisters, Mamie, Lottie and Edith.

White, Doris - Doris Wells White, 75, retired Associate Professor of Nursing, died April 24, 2006 in Franklin, Tennessee. The Newark native grew up in Marion and was the daughter of the late Leland John Wells and Sarah Madelyn Cramer Wells. She received her B.S. degree at Keuka College and her M.S. in Nursing at Vanderbilt University. She began her career at Columbia State Community College in 1967. She was a past president and vice president of the American Assn. of University Women, past president of the Annie White Circle of the Kings' Daughters and Sons, board member of the Habitat for Humanity. Ms. White was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbia, TN since 1963. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie (Brad) Temple of Thompson's Station, Linda (Richard) Hicks of Columbia; one son, Terry R. White of Spring Hill; one sister, Nancy (Stuart) Balch of Sodus Point; one brother, Richard (Dorothy) Wells of Lake Forest, California; one grandson, and three granddaughters. Hesbon, Gerry - Gerald (Gerry) Hesbon, 88, died April 26, 2006 at the House of John in Clifton Springs. He was born November 27, 1918 in the Town of Sweden, Monroe County. He and Mary Redder were married on May 2, 1943 at her family home in Phelps. Gerry was a WWII veteran of the Pacific Theatre from 1942-1946. Gerry attended public school and completed studies in Labor and Civil Law and Human Resources at the New York State Department of Labor Campus in Albany and Michigan State University. He retired from the NYS Department of Labor. A past president of Phelps Rotary Club, Gerry was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member of Phelps American Legion, United Church, Clifton Springs Country Club, Phelps Historical Society, a past president of Phelps PTA and Band Boosters, serving on several advisory committees at Midlakes High School, Fingers Lakes Community College and BOCES. He also served on the first Planning and Zoning Board in Phelps and Neighborhood Commissioner of the Boy Scouts.

Gerry enjoyed camping in the Finger Lakes and on the St. Lawrence, fishing with his children and hunting with his sons. For many years, the entire family vacationed in Calabogie, Ontario. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and their children; Jan Hesbon and his wife Jo Becker, Barbara and James Sanford, Rebecca Hesbon and Jeffrey Hesbon; grandchildren Samantha (Sanford) and John Tumminelli, and Tiffany Smith; one great grandson, Jackson Carlos Tumminelli; his sister Marjorie Newell; nieces Shirley (and Joseph) Miller and Alice (and Kurt) Howell; cousins Betty (and Robert) Hirr, Jerry (and Elaine) Burch and Althea Knapp, and several great nieces and nephews. Gerry was predeceased by his brother Eugene Hesbon and sister Edna Newport. A service will be held at the United Church in Phelps on May 5 at 1 p.m., officiated by Rev. Shirley Filiatreau. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Phelps; arrangements made by the Cheney Funeral Home.

Kraus, Dr. Richard T. - Dr. Richard T. Kraus, age 75, of Honeoye Falls, died peacefully on April 21, 2006 after a brief illness. Dr. Kraus was a graduate of Aquinas Institute, Niagara University and Georgetown University where he received his M.D. degree. A specialist in Forensic Psychiatry, Dr. Kraus authored several publications including those on serial killers and related personality traits. He also appeared on national television discussing issue related to Forensic Psychiatry. Dr. Kraus had been a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at many facilities, including Wayne Behavioral Health Network, Lyons. A Mass was held at St. Paul of the Cross Church, Honeoye Falls. Burial with full military honors took place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family is served by the Merton H. Keys Funeral Home, 59 Monroe St., Honeoye Falls. Meaker, Warren M. - Warren Meaker, 85, of Palmyra, died April 23, 2006. A World War II Army veteran, he co-owned and operated Palmyra Creamery until 1984. He was an active volunteer for Palmyra Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, Newark Hospital, DeMay Living Center, We Care Transportation and was a longtime member of the Palmyra First United Methodist Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce A. Meaker. Surviving are his children: Nelson (Ellen) Meaker, Gail Meaker (Greg Pederson), Warren Jr. (Brenda) Meaker; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Ariel; sisters, Janette Newman and Grace (Bruce) Glezen; a brother Harold (Gay) Meaker; nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at Palmyra First United Methodist Church. Mittiga, Angela - Angela M. Mittiga, 98, of Clifton Springs died April 22, 2006 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Angela was born September 24, 1907, in Plati, Italy, daughter of Joseph and Josephine Morabito Mittiga, Sr. Angela lived most of her life in Massena, moving to the Clifton Springs area to live with her niece, Rosemary Strub. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a baker and cook for the Royal Restaurant in Massena. Besides her niece Rosemary (William) Strub of Clifton Springs, she is survived by several other nieces, nephews, cousins, a brother-in-law Vince Higgins of Canandaigua, and a sister-in-law Margaret Mittiga of Massena. She was predeceased by her siblings: Catherine Higgins, Dominic 'Mike' Mittiga - who died in World War II, Joseph Jr., Ross Mittiga, Rose Mittiga and infant Anthony Mittiga. Calling hours are planned for 3-5 p.m. Sunday (April 30) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street. Blodgett, Jack - John L. 'Jack' Blodgett, 68, of Newark, died April 20, 2006 at his home. Jack was born March 9, 1938 in Auburn, son of Loyal and Helen Kemp Blodgett. He was a graduate of East High School in Auburn, class of 1956, and Princeton University in 1960. Jack married his long-time friend Lynn MacKay on June 25, 1960. He worked for Bonwit Teller in New York City and Chicago, and Petrie Department Store in New York City. Later, he moved to the Rochester area where he worked for Sibley's. Taking an opportunity when it rose in the life insurance and financial planning field, he came to Newark in 1971, joining the existing agency for Connecticut Mutual Life, now Mass Mutual. He took the agency over shortly thereafter, Jack became a Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, earned his master of science in financial services, and was a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table. As a member of the Park Presbyterian Church, Jack served as an elder, a trustee, and he was a faithful choir member. He joined the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital board and had served as board president. Jack was one of the seven founding members of the Hospital's Foundation in 1988, now ViaHealth of Wayne Foundation, and continued to serve as an officer of that board for years. He was chairman of the board of the Finger Lakes Area Hospitals Corp. He was a member of the Newark Rotary Club, was elected president for 1979-80, and was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow in 1996. He was past president of  the Newark Community Chest and helped  bring the United Way to Wayne County. He  had been a member of the Newark Chamber of Commerce and the Newark Country Club. Jack is survived by Lynn, his wife of 45 years; three sons, John, Jr. (Sue) of Clarendon Hills, Illinois, Stuart (Julie) of Newark, and Bruce (Jackie) of Auburn; seven grandchildren: James, Jenna, Stuart Jr., Jillian, Eric, Emma and Alex; brother, Richard (Ruth) Blodgett of Hanover NH; three nieces; and one nephew. He was predeceased in 1941 by his father, Loyal Blodgett; stepfather Harold Dewey in 1952; and his mother, Helen Blodgett Dewey, who died in 1985. Arrangements were made by the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 E. Miller St., Newark. Interment is in East Newark Cemetery. Fortuna, Angeline - Angeline Fortuna, 89, formerly of Newark, Palmyra and New Rochelle, died April 4, 2006 in Burbank, California. She was the wife of the late Anthony Fortuna. Angeline was born February 13, 1917 in Stefanoconi, Italy (province of Catanazaro). She was retired from the Newark Developmental Center. Surviving are her children: Nicholas of Danbury, CT; Joseph F (Eileen) of Harrison; Annette of Aqua Dulce, CA; John of Los Angeles; grandchildren Nicholas, Kelly, Jerry, Toni Ann, Anthony, Nina and Jackie; two great-granddaughters, Audrey and Emily; sisters, Isabelle (Chet) Harvey; Betty (William) Viola; Frances (Al) Sprague of Newark; Mary (Ed) Nellis of Williamsville; brothers, John (Harriet) Barberi of Bellingham, WA, and Samuel (Dottie) Barberi of Germantown; dear friends, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth (Foti) Barberi; step-mother, Marianna (Foti) Barberi; brothers, Dominick, Nicholas, Philip and Joseph; and a sister Tilly (Stan) Jarzynka. Dunning, John - John G. Dunning, 89, died April 21, 2006 at Clifton Springs Hospital Extended Care. A gathering to- celebrate John's life will be held at noon Tuesday (April 25) at the home of Ray Dunning, 2333 Melvin Hill Road in Phelps. Interment will be in the Melvin Hill Cemetery. John was born Sept. 15, 1916, in Sayre, Pennsylvania, son of John and Pauline Dunning. He served his country with the Army during World War II. He taught music and led the marching band for Clifton Springs Central School. He was also a pilot and loved to golf. He was a member of the Newark Baptist Church, the Lions Club of Newark, Masonic Lodge, and former member of the Clifton Springs Country Club. John is survived by his wife, Doris; son, Ray (Nancy) Dunning of Phelps, and daughter Trina (John) Kardys of Newark; grandchildren, Deanna and Brent Cameron, Angela and Ian Kardys; and sister, Juanita West. Goossen, Emma - Emma Wright Goossen, 83, of Sodus, died April 17, 2006. She was predeceased in 1994 by her husband Jacob. Weed, Patricia - Patricia A. Weed, 57, of Newark, died April 21, 2006 at Rochester General Hospital. Patricia was born January 20, 1949, in Clifton Springs, daughter of Nicholas and Margaret Reiter Scutella. She was a 1967 graduate of Williamson High School. She was a caregiver at the Newark Developmental Center for 35 years, retiring in 2005. She is survived by her mother, Margaret Scutella of Newark; sister, Jacqueline (Mark) Van Halle of Newark; brother, Clifford (Sue) Scutella of Brockport; nieces and nephews. Brant, Denise J. - Denise J. Brant, 40, of Westport, died Saturday, April 14, 2006, as the result of a vehicle accident. She was born April 5, 1966, in Jasper, Indiana, the daughter of Richard and Sylvia (Hammond) Gerould. Denise enjoyed riding horses and belonged to the Keepers, an association for the benefit of 4-H children. She is survived by her mother and father of Newark, NY; two sons, Kevin and Eric Brant of Westport; a stepson, Warren Brant of Keeseville; granddaughter, Alyssa Brant of Keeseville; sister, Robin Henderson of Newark, NY; two nephews and her former husband of many years, Ellis Brant of Westport. Johnston, Glenn R. - Glenn Richard Johnston, 81, of Newark, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at the Clifton Springs Hospital. There will be no prior calling hours. Mr. Johnston was born the son of the late John and Mary Geiger Johnston on November 14, 1924 in Cuba, NY. He lived in Port Allegany, PA for over 40 years graduating from Port Allegany High School. There, he worked for Pittsburgh-Corning Co. before coming to Newark and retiring from Mobil Chemical in 1989. The funeral home proudly flies the Army Flag in honor of his service to our country during WWII, serving in the European Theatre. Powers, Rev. James L. - The Rev. James Powers, 91, of East Williamson went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2006. He was a retired pastor of The Church of Philadelphia, past treasurer and trustee of the Elim Bible Institute, and a retiree from Eastman Kodak. He is survived by his son Winston (Glenda) Powers of Rochester; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many dear friends. Forjone, Debbie Lyn - Debbie Lyn Forjone, 49, of Lincolnville, Maine died April 8, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Debbie Lyn was born Aug. 13, 1956, a daughter to William and Betty Miller Raymer. She moved to Maine 12 years ago, making and selling jewelry as a home business. Sharyl was born the daughter of William and Jean Pfeiffer Myers on August 4, 1952 in Newark. Sharyl worked at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital for several years in the food services. She enjoyed crafts, including sew and making Teddy bears. Many of her creations were sold at the Palmyra Canal Days. Sharyl will be remembered by her father, William Myers. She was predeceased by her mother Jean Myers in 1977.

Bowler, Anna - Anna M. Bowler, 87, of Water St., Lyons, died Monday, April 10, 2006 at the Newark Wayne Community Hospital. Anna was born in Rochester on March 10, 1919, a daughter to Rosario and Anna Costa Quagliata. She was a faithful, communicant of St. Michael's Church in Lyons and a volunteer at Catholic Charities Community Residence. She is survived by her six children, Carol (Dot Cacchio) Bowler of PA, Gary (Dawn) Bowler of Ontario, Sharon (James) Allen of Lyons, Paul Bowler of Georgia, Mark (Rosemary) Bowler of Lyons, and Keith (Ronna) Bowler of North Carolina; sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl (Mac) Quagliata of Lyons; two sisters, Grace Witt of Florida and Lucy Gunnoe of Newark; sisters-in-law, Sophie Quagliata of Lyons, Flora Quagliata of Virginia; many nieces and nephews. Maslyn, William 'Willum' - William 'Willum' Maslyn, 45, of Pearl Street Extension, Clifton Springs passed away unexpectedly Tuesday (April 4, 2006) in Maryland. Friends called at the Patrick Funeral Home, 26 W. Main St., Clifton Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Monday (April 10) at St. Felix Church in Clifton Springs. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may contribute to the American Diabetes Association in Willum's memory. Willum was born Feb. 22, 1961 in Clifton Springs, the son of Elmer Jr. and Barbara Maslyn, and had lived in the area all of his life. He worked for many years on his family's farm while in school and later as a herdsman for Reedland Farms. He was an avid NASCAR and Giants fan. Willum will be sadly missed by all of his loving family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Maslyn of Clifton Springs; son, Samuel Weber of Virginia; brothers and sisters, Charles (Vicky) Maslyn, Lori (Alan) Norsen, Jim (Lisa) Maslyn,: and Janet (Mark) Wheeler, all of Clifton Springs; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Elmer J., Maslyn Jr.; and a niece, Ashlee Wheeler.

Williams, Jack D. - Jack D. Williams of Hopewell, died unexpectedly Thursday (April 6, 2006) at home. Service and interment will be at the convenience of the family. Jack was born May 2, 1929 the son of Douglas and Nellie (Case) Williams. He was a veteran of the Air Force. He retired 10 years ago from I.E.C. of Newark. He was a member of Turner Schrader 34. He lived in the Hopewell area for 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Clara Smith Williams; two daughters, Ann D. (Michael) Brady and Paula (Dick) Triplett; three sons, Jack, Jonathan and Darryel; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. (Rosemary) DeCook of Evansville, Indiana; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Raymond R. DeCook in 1968. At her request, calling hours will not observed and the courtesy of no flowers. Lootens, Janice (McCormick) - Janice (McCormick) Lootens, 49, of Phelps, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic. She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Robert Lootens of Phelps; step-son, Sgt. Jonathan Lootens of Hawaii; father, Howard F. (Judy) McCormick Jr. of Windsor, CT; sisters, Maureen M. (fiancee James Benedicks) Strader of Romulus, Joan (Philip) Thompson of Mattaponi, VA; brother, Howard F. (Kathy) McCormick III of Hartford, CT; step-father, Herman Glassman; half-sisters, Darlene McCormick, Holly (Fiancee Mike Curley) McCormick, Lynn McCormick; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and her beloved pets, Millie, Misty, Freddie, Winter and Suzie. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Glassman and her brother, Robert McCormick. Walters, Larry W. - Larry W. Walter, 55, of Marion, passed away with his family by his side on April 2, 2006. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert & Elma Walters; brother, Clifford Lee Walters. Larry is survived by his wife, Ilene; children, Wendy (Todd) Lawton, Mike (Jennifer) Walters, Pam (Todd) Udelhofen, and Clifford Walters; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Allen (Janine) & Jerry (Rosemary); sister, Ellen (Jim) DeMay; and several cousins, nieces & nephews. Friends may call today (Wednesday) 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, Sodus where services will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. Interment will be held at the Marion Cemetery. Blakely, Nelia C. - Nelia C. Blakely, 94, of Sodus, died April 1, 2006. She was predeceased by daughter, Annie Mae White. Nelia is survived by children, Minnie Jackson and Bobby Lee Blakely; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Hause, Lorraine - Lorraine Hause of Marbletown Rd., Newark, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at House of John in Clifton Springs. Lorraine was born in Newark to Charles and Florence (Peckham) Priebe. She was a home health aide for Wayne County and worked at Sibley's in her earlier years. She was a member of Just Single Friends, a member of Touched by Cancer, and a member of St. Mark's Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Bonnie Andrews and Linda (David) Smith, both of Baldwinsville; son, Robert Jr. of Newark; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters; nieces and nephews. Predeceasd by her husband Robert in February 1979. Friends may call Thursday, April 6, from 4-7 p.m. at Schulz-Pusateri Funeral Home, 103 Maple Court, Newark. DeFisher, Josie - Josie (VanKouwenberg) DeFisher, 85, of Sodus, died April 1, 2006 at Blossom View Nursing Home. She is survived by her son, Allen (Sue) DeFisher, of Palmyra; daughters Sandra (Leslie) Cole of Williamson, Kathleen DeFisher (Peter Zawadzki), of Sodus; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard (Betty) VanKouwenberg of FL, Donald (Jean) VanKouwenberg of FL; sister, Elizabeth (Ralph) Everdyke, of Newark; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased in 1976 by her husband, Abram Fisher, and in 2002 by her granddaughter Colleen Cole. The family asks the courtesy of no flowers. Camacho, Gary A. - Gary A. Camacho, 43, of Newark, died Saturday (April 1, 2006). Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 on Thursday (April 6) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services are 11 a.m. on Friday (April 7) at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Matteson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Phelps. Memorials in his name may be sent to his family at the funeral home, 127 East Miller St., Newark, New York 14513. Mr. Camacho was born on August 23,1962 in Clifton Springs, the son of Miguel and Catherine O'Dell Camacho. Gary was a Sound Engineer for his own company, Music Production Unlimited. He played guitar in two bands, Rude Mood and Double Vision. Gary donated much of his time and talents to special fundraisers for families in need. He was also a member of the Wayne County Motorcycle Club. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Schetrompf Camacho, son Caleb, daughter Shania; his parents Miguel 'Mike' and Catherine O'Dell Camacho; two brothers Michael (Darci) and Donald all of Newark; three sisters, Linda (Jim) Foster of Newark, Debra Smith of Tampa, FL, Michele (Ron) Harper of Newark; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends. Gary was predeceased by his sister, Terri Camacho, in 1989.
