Jeanne used her business background to augment the family income as they moved from Iowa, to Rochester, and eventually settled on North Creek Road in Palmyra. She worked as a typist and bookkeeper for local businesses, and was the Palmyra Village Court Clerk for almost 20 years. She and Jack remained active in bowling leagues and the Unitarian Church, and their generous spirits led them to contribute countless volunteer hours to many organizations, including the Red Cross, Meals-on-Wheels, the Kings Daughters Library, and the town of Palmyra Historical Archives.
